Buffalo Chicken Dip

This is not an original picture. I don't eat celery. The Evans don't eat celery. But they say you have to have a nice picture for a good blahg post. I make this stuff all the time. All. The. Time. Downton Abbey is on, I make this stuff. I need to catch up on my CW shows, I make this stuff. You heard me, I watch some teen TV on CW. I can't help it. Last year my favorite show was Revenge on ABC. This year I've totally gotten sucked into Deception on NBC. Sounds like I watch quality TV doesn't it. Either way, doesn't matter because I make this stuff way too much. It's buffalo chicken dip. Love it. Here's the recipe I use. Only difference is I don't eat chicken crackers or celery. We eat ours with good ole' fashion tortilla chips and it works just the same. Enjoy! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/buffalo-chicken-dip/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=buffalo%20chicken%20dip&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e13=A%3aSearch%20Results-List%28control%29&e7=Home%20Page

My New Sewing Blog

I have a new sewing blog where I've decided to put all my sewing adventures on. I figure some might not care and others won't want to see my sewing projects or other sewing related items all the time. But if you are interested head over to www.sewingseebeethree.blogspot.com. See Bee Three is my handmade label I've been attaching to my items lately. I'm going to try and post once a week. Right now I'm planning on posting pics of sewing projects, ideas for future projects, possibly some how to's and links to other sewing blogs and sites I love. Hope to see you there!

My baby girl is 2 on Monday

This cutie turns 2 on Monday. Of course I had to make her a party dress. I decided to go more casual with knit thinking she would get more use out of it as the weather warms up . . . hopefully. This knit dress is the Oliver + S Hopscotch Knit Dress/Top. I posted the pic of her dress on Facebook as well as the Oliver + S Patterns flickr pool. I got a large response wondering where the fabric came from or if I made it. I'm toying around with the idea of making a few and selling them.

Yard Sale

Whoa - you know its been awhile since you've posted on your blog if your last entry was January and it's July. I'm terrible. Quick and dirty version is that I'm somewhat anti blogging now. I still love readings other's blogs, that's not what this is about. Anyway, if you want to know more you can ask me but I don't want to waste space talking about the psychology of the blahg.

I'm having a 'yard' sale. If you know me well you know that in the last year I've become completely addicted to sewing. I don't quilt. I sew Maizie clothes, trying to make a top for myself, bags, and other stuff I think looks cool. I have a tendency to buy fabric if I get twitterpated about it when I see it before I have any real plans for it. Then that excitement dies down once I get working and then it sits in my fabric bin.

I also recently moved into a new house with a new mortgage. Translation - larger mortgage payment, savings considerably smaller. However, I have my sights on a little birthday gift to myself (cough, a better sewing machine) and I need to replenish that savings account.

Check out what I'm selling here in my Etsy shop BrittsYardSale :

If you have friends who want designer (not JoAnn's)* fabric please steer them my way. There's 11 yards for sale of random stuff. I have 1 Amy Butler print on there, she's a popular household name.

* I'm not dissing on Jo-Ann's, I just don't love their fabric. But I buy plenty of other stuff there don't be mistaken.

The Return of TV

A lot of bloggers post about their New Year's resolutions as their first post of the new year. Well I haven't made any resolutions yet for 2012 but one thing I am glad about is the return of some of my favorite TV shows. I know, important stuff here.

I'm a project runway fan. This show happens to hit a lot of interest points for me namely fashion, sewing, talented people, and mostly humor. Last fall when I was watching this show I laughed so hard at one part that I totally scared Maizie while she was playing on the floor. Last season the contestants happened to be especially hilarious. But the sure fire winner on the funny comments has to be the judge Michael Kors.

If you are looking for something to fill your 7 PM Thursday night time slot then I say give it a shot. It's about the only thing I will ever watch on the Lifetime network.

Maizie Happenings

Well the Christmas dress just didn't happen this year. I wasn't heart broken at all. There are plenty of Christmas's in the future. Right now I'm trying to work out a 1st birthday party outfit. One of the biggest problems I have right now with making M little clothes is that she is so slender so most patterns end up being quite big. But we're working on it, and I'm sure we'll have an outfit for her birthday party in February.

Jared and I took her to see Santa Claus. I'm not convinced that next year's pic will look any different.

Yesterday we went to Cabela's and we took Maizie around to look at the different animals and fish. She liked the fish tank best. The one fish was looking straight out so it made for a cute picture.

Some PJ Pants

Since I'm obsessed with sewing projects right now, the neices got some PJ pants along with their gift cards for Christmas. My cute niece Haley who lives in TX got the blue zebra stripe pair. I love the fabric for the cuff. But it was popular at a little fabric store by my house that I only got enough for the cuffs. I would love to have made Maizie a summer top out of it.

My other cute neice Paige got a pair that matched Maizie's pj pants since I had some leftover fabric and it's colder here than in TX. These were made out of the same flannel I used to M's.

Both pants were a hit and had a few requests to make others. Good thing Valentine's Day is coming up.
